Sam Jackson, the president and chief executive of the Kake Tribe's corporation died of throat cancer last month at the age of 41.
Jackson is credited with bringing Kake Tribal Corp., a village corporation, out of bankruptcy.
The company turned a profit in 2002.
Jackson was serving as president of the Alaska Native Brotherhood when he learned he had cancer in January.
