The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians of California is now accepting identification cards issued by the Mexican consulate.
The tribe is the first in the U.S. to recognize the cards. The issue came about when a Mexican national with one used it to claim a casino prize.
The card is issued to Mexican nationals who may lack other forms of identification.
