Fort Peck leadership dispute continues

The suspended chairman of the Fort Peck Tribes of Montana has called a general council meeting to oust his opponents on the council, The Great Falls Tribune reports.

John Morales was suspended last week for alleged derelict of duty. He says he will resign if tribal members vote him out at a June 13 meeting.

But the council says the meeting is unconstitutional because it does not follow tribal law. The council is moving to remove Morales from his post.
