Less than half of eligible Natives in the Winnipeg Centre district in Winnipeg, Manitoba, voted in the last federal election, CBC News reports.
Of the eligible voters in the district, 13 percent are Native. Activists say Native voters need to pay more attention to their representatives. The MP from the district supported First Nations leaders who opposed changes to a key federal law.
