Dreams come true for newest Miss Indian World


Delana Smith, a member of the Red Lake Ojibwe Nation of Minnesota, was named Miss Indian World 2004-2005 at the Gathering of Nations pow-wow.

Smith, 23 dreamed about winning the title ever since she was a young girl. She competed against 16 women at the pow-wow, held last weekend in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Smith teaches 4- and 5-year olds at the Head Start on the Red Lake Reservation.
