Imprisoned American Indian Movement activist Leonard Peltier did not threaten to kill Anna Mae Pictou Aquash, his lawyer says.
Peltier is alleged to have threatened Aquash because she heard him brag about murdering two FBI agents. Aquash was also the subject of rumors that she was an FBI informant.
Peltier is serving two life sentences for the murders but his lawyer says testimony in Aquash's recent murder trial alleging that he bragged about the murders was false. The lawyer admits Peltier questioned questioning Aquash about the informant rumors but never held a gun to her mouth.
