The Snoqualmie Tribe of Washington is asking the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to order a study of the sacred Snoqualmie Falls.
The tribe opposes the presence of two power plants at the falls. The tribe hopes federal and state intervention will result in the decommissioning of the Puget Sound Energy plants.
The tribe says the FERC, which regulates hydro-electric utilities, should order PGE to prepare a cultural resources mitigation plan.
