Judy Knight-Frank will resign as chair of the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe of Colorado after pleading guilty to one count of falsifying her 1998 income tax return.
Knight-Frank, 60, obtained payroll advances for which she did not pay timely taxes. She is allowed to dispute a $59,058 tax payment and has already repaid some money to the tribe.
Knight-Frank will spend five months in federal custody and five months in home detention under the plea reached with federal prosecutors.
