A Hopi tribal office is organizing a protest march against a decision to allow snowmaking in the sacred San Francisco Peaks in Arizona.

The 8-mile walk will take place on March 25, the same day the U.S. Forest Service will hold a public meeting on the Hopi Reservation. The tribe opposes the use of reclaimed wastewater to make snow at the at the Arizona Snowbowl, a ski area.

The use of wastewater is considered a desecration of the peaks by the Hopi, Navajo and other tribes.
