Two boys at Flathead died of alcohol consumption

Authorities in Montana said two 11-year-old boys found dead on the Flathead Reservation had elevated blood alcohol levels.

The boys were found in a field near a tribal housing development. They had died either late Friday or early Saturday, the county sheriff said. One boy whose official cause of death was alcohol poisoning had a blood-alcohol level of 0.5 percent while the other, who died from a combination of alcohol poisoning and hypothermia, had a level of 0.2 percent.

The sheriff said the boys were Indian but wasn't sure if they were members of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes.
