A screening committee at Central Michigan University is reviewing applications for the director of the school's Native American Programs.
The school hopes to fill the post by the fall semester. The Native program's budget was cut from $118,000 to $67,000, reducing the director to a part-time position and eliminating the associate director position.
Former director Lisa Tiger stepped down to accept a temporary faculty job.
The school works closely with the Saginaw Chippewa Tribe.
