The Chippewa Cree Tribe of Montana is considering creating its own public energy commission to serve the reservation and the surrounding community.
Richard Small, the economic development administration planner for the tribe, said the tribe plans to tap into wind and solar power to provide electricity for consumers.
Small attended a workshop on wind power. The 2002 Farm Bill contains provisions to help ag producers and others buy equipment to use wind power.
