Two members of the Navajo Nation are being considered for an open seat in the Arizona state Senate.
Former President Albert Hale and Richie Nez, an attorney who has worked for the tribe, are on the list to replace state Sen. Jack Jackson (D), a tribal member, who resigned last month for health reasons. But Jackson's son, state Rep. Jack Jackson Jr., was not on the list.
The Apache County Board of Supervisors will choose a replacement January 20.
