Bush education official pays visit to N.M. school

Vicky Vasques, director of the Department of Education's Office of Indian Education, visited the Santa Fe Indian School in New Mexico on Thursday.

According to The Santa Fe New Mexican, Vasques wasn't able to answer questions posed by the school's superintendent. She said she hadn't done much research on the school before visiting. Her office works with public schools -- SFIS is a Bureau of Indian Affairs school.

Vasques toured the facility, which is undergoing a construction and modernization project.
