COVID-19 in Indian Country
Five Red Lake Nation council members, including Chairman Darrell Seki, Sr., volunteered to be the first to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
The Red Lake Nation has 45 active cases of COVID-19 on the reservation in northern Minnesota.
The Red Lake Nation has established a COVID-19 Public Health Emergency Relief Program to help citizens during the pandemic.
Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, social distancing requirements, and martial law on the reservation, spring commencement at Red Lake Nation College will still go on as scheduled on May 21, 2020, drive-in theater style.
Chairman Darrell G. Seki, Sr. of the Red Lake Nation declared medical martial law on the reservation on April 1, 2020.
March 23, 2020 PUBLIC NOTICE: THE RED LAKE TRIBAL COUNCIL HEREBY ORDERS COVID-19 PANDEMIC CURFEW FOR THE RED LAKE RESERVATION EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY IN THIRTY DAY INTERVALS TO SAFEGUARD THE HEALTH & SAFETY OF THE RED LAKE BAND MEMBERS. ### Resolution No. 77-2020 imposes a curfew from 10pm to 6am.
