COVID-19 in Indian Country
The Senate passed the State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial Fiscal Recovery, Infrastructure, and Disaster Relief Flexibility Act to address COVID-19 funding.
"Approving a Major Disaster Declaration will help save lives and livelihoods—and ensure the Nation can access critical resources to combat and reduce the spread of COVID-19," said Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Arizona).
'As Senator, I will proudly work with the Navajo community to invest in education, housing, infrastructure and – especially – healthcare,' Democratic candidate Mark Kelly says in releasing a new ad.
'The Navajo Nation is facing the worst coronavirus outbreak in the country, Navajo leaders are doing everything in their power to take care of their community, and the federal government continues to fail them,' U.S. Senate candidate Mark Kelly said.
'The coronavirus relief funding coming from Washington today for tribal governments is inadequate and weeks-delayed,' said Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Mark Kelly.
