COVID-19 in Indian Country
The Department of the Treasury has sent $240 billion in fiscal support to state, territorial, local, and tribal governments through the American Rescue Plan Act.
The Department of the Treasury awarded $1.25 billion in COVID-19 relief funds to 863 community development financial institutions, including 58 CDFIs serving Native communities.
The U.S. Supreme Court is set to hear arguments in a long-running COVID-19 dispute.
"I know Indian Country has suffered a disproportionate share of hardship in this country," Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen told a meeting of the Treasury Tribal Advisory Committee.
A federal judge will hold a status conference in Shawnee Tribe v. Yellen, formerly known as Shawnee Tribe v. Mnuchin, on February 17, 2021.
