COVID-19 in Indian Country
The Cherokee Nation is receiving $1.8 billion in COVID-19 recovery funds as part of an historic investment in Indian Country through President Biden’s American Rescue Plan Act.
The Department of the Treasury announced a 2-week extension for tribal governments to request payments from $20 billion in American Rescue Plan Act funds.
The American Rescue Plan Act provides the largest single infusion of federal funding into Indian Country in the history of the United States.
The Department of the Treasury is hosting an additional session on the distribution of $20 billion in American Rescue Plan Act funds to tribal governments.

The Bureau of Indian Affairs has begun disbursing $900 million to federally recognized tribes under the American Rescue Plan Act.

Leaders of the Navajo Nation are discussing ways to best utilize the historic $31.2 billion investment in Indian Country from the American Rescue Plan Act.
The Navajo Nation is scheduled to receive nearly $50 million of the funding to help carry out affordable housing activities on the largest reservation in the United States.
