Narragansett Tribe finds new use for smoke shop

The Narragansett Tribe is rechristening its disputed smoke shop today as an educational and informational center.

The tribe also plans to use the center to raise money for its legal fight against the state. The two parties are in federal court over the legality of selling tax-free cigarettes on the reservation. The case is likely to be appealed whatever the decision.
