Clinton Speaks in Dine
Clinton took an entire day to travel to three regions of the country to speak about The Digital Divide,
the so-called technology gap between the rich and the poor. One of his tour dates happened to
be the Navajo Nation. On Monday, he spoke to thousands who gathered at Shiprock, NM where he
made an announcement to provide $1-a-month phone service to 300,000 reservation homes. He
also spoke with local Navajo school children throughout the Navajo Nation via video-conference set up by a Colorado
technology firm, Native American Systems.
In the end, bridging the Digital Divide will be the job of companies like NAS and Microsoft, who
also donated $2.5M in software and funds to tribal colleges. Its just the Clinton wanted a chance
to speak in Dine. Rumors that he consumed an entire pot of mutton stew and have been unconfirmed...

Tastes Like Whale Meat
Whale hunting season began again and the hunting families of the Makah Nation took to
the seas for the first time since last year's historic hunt. So far, the Parker family
hasn't captured a whale. The Coast Guard, on the other hand, has had a lot of luck
capturing protesters who began arriving to Neah Bay even before a hunting permit had been
issued. Coast Guard: 4 arrested, 3 water vehicles confiscated. Protesters: 2 injured,
0 minds changed...
