Tribal Leaders Scheduled to Engage with Congress in Virtual Meetings for Tribal Unity Impact Days

WASHINGTON, D.C. | The 2020 Tribal Unity Impact Days, a two-day event hosted by the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) and its partners, will take place on September 16 – 17, 2020 to provide tribal leaders with the opportunity to engage with key members of Congress in an all virtual setting.

Tribal Unity Impact Days kicks off Wednesday, September 16 with an opening session led by NCAI President Fawn Sharp, NCAI Chief Executive Officer Kevin Allis, and an update from members of the NCAI Civic Engagement and Policy Research Center teams for a state of 2020 Census report.

On both event days, attendees will hear from Congressional members and tribal leaders, in a round table format, as they discuss critical legislative issues currently affecting tribal nations including: COVID-19; emergency management; natural resources; public safety; infrastructure, and other important topics to Indian Country.

This year’s partners include three regional inter-tribal organizations and eight national Native organizations.
