Keep your grubbies off our oligarchy pie

Native Sun News Today Contributing Editor

One thing about political arguments, even when your argument is strong and sharply defined, and the counter argument is wholesale hooey, you still have to keep hammering it home, because when it comes to politics, the most clueless rube in the room considers himself a politically savvy genius. Just like we all think we are above average car drivers, we all think we are above average in our comprehension of politics.

Not sure how this happened, maybe it is a rite of passage in our society, that however limited and modest our intelligence, or accomplishments, or character, when it comes to our opinion, we just as well have a marble throne at the summit of Mount Olympus. This is exacerbated by the fact our media is controlled by a small cadre of elites who have distorted the narrative ingeniously, as the best propaganda operates undetected in the mind of the duped.

The Democratic debates are textbook dreck in that regard, and a critical understanding of how the selection process works, escapes the minds of the duped electorate. They think the process offers them a selection that matters, that the system isn’t rigged. They never figure out that vigorous, even rancorous debate, is encouraged within the parameters of acceptable discourse.

The Democrats are awful, the Republicans stink, you can make those assertions, supported by detailed evidence, all day long, and the rich and powerful corporate oligarchy that owns and operates our country, loves it.

When you start to talk serious issues outside the approved narrative (a narrative we are deceived into thinking is broad in scope, because we can routinely engage seemingly diametric ideas and enemies), the process clamps down, and winnows out the threat.

There is no long term difference between Trump and Clinton. They both serve the oligarchy. Since the electorate can only choose between two candidates they control, there actually isn’t much of a choice. Knowing this, it is the job of the media to peddle contentious distinction, so people will misguidedly throw their passion and intellect at targets created to distract and embroil them.

But let’s say that isn’t true and that your vote really matters, even though it doesn’t. My advice is to vote HARDER. Oh, that doesn’t work…shocker.

Well, if you don’t want Trump, then at least understand the corrupted process you foolishly think allows you choice. Clinton already had the support of moderates, but she foolishly courted their support anyway, and ignored the progressives who warned her that unless she supported single payer and living wage and student loan forgiveness and reduction of defense spending, she was NOT going to get their support. Was she so stupid she didn’t believe them?
