Grandma theme keeps hanging on
Well, the "Grandma" theme will not let me alone.
This is a short and sweet column, just like little Fabel Tyne True Blood, an adopted granddaughter. She found out about the story I wrote last week, featuring her, read on Facebook and blabbed by another Grandma, (Mary, mother of Fabel’s mother) who forwarded it to about 2,000 "friends."
Now, having given Fabel a small claim to fame, I am considered by her to be a little less stupid, formerly declared an oldster “who does not know anything.” Fabel apparently approved of her story but had a strong suggestion. “Why didn’t you put my picture in there?”
“I don’t have a good one,” I explained.
“You can use the one from the other newspaper,” she advised. The Sheridan Press recently did a feature story about Headstart and little Fabel was pictured there. “The PEOPLE want to see me,” she told.
“They already know that you look like, a fairy princess, and me, a big old rat,” I reminded her.
”Grandma,” she persisted. “They will want to see me.”
“Think so?”
“Yep.”
“Well, maybe you should clean up, wash your face, comb your hair and put on a pretty dress., so we can take a nice photo of little beautiful you.”
“The pink one with lace?”
“That would be very nice.”
“When will you write about me again? I will go into the first grade and might be the smartest one. You can tell that I read books, ride my own bike, do summersaults and stand on my head.”
