Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation returns Mark Fox to chairman's post
Mark Fox has secured a second term as chairman of the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation, also known as the Three Affiliated Tribes.
Fox easily defeated Tex Hall, a former chairman, in an election on Tuesday. The certified results show Fox secured 1,725 votes while Hall only got 759.
"Thank you for your prayers, support and great work!" Fox wrote in a post on Facebook late Tuesday.
Fox was sworn into office on Thursday.
The tribe is based on the Fort Berthold Reservation in North Dakota.
