Omaze on YouTube: Come to my 50th Birthday Party!

Will Smith celebrates birthday with bungee jump on Navajo Nation

Actor and musician Will Smith is turning 50 years old on Tuesday and he'll be celebrating his birthday on the Navajo Nation.

But this won't be an ordinary party. Smith, well known for his many film roles and his chart-topping songs, will be bungee jumping from a helicopter over the Grand Canyon in order to raise money for education.

"We're raising money to benefit Education Cannot Wait," Smith said in a video announcing his stunt.

"Will believes that every child should have access to the transformative power of education, which provides the chance to thrive, live and succeed," the charity website Omaze states.

The bungee jump is occurring in the part of the Grand Canyon that lies within the Arizona portion of the Navajo Nation. The tribe has a permit process for such events but a spokesperson declined to comment on the particulars for Smith's stunt when asked by The Associated Press.
