Mount Trumpmore and the Nobel Peace Prize

Donald S. Trump had a face-to-face visit with South Dakota’s lone member of the House of Representatives Kristi Noem.

During the conversation Mount Rushmore came up and Trump said in all seriousness that he would like to have his face carved on the mountain. Noem said she laughed because she thought he was just joking. That is probably not true. She probably groveled a little by telling Trump that it would be just peachy to have his face on the mountain. The mountain could be named Mount Trumpmore.

And of course, she added, the Lakota people would love to see his image on the mountain alongside of the other four racists. We have been printing the comments about American Indians made by all four of the presidents carved on Mount Rushmore over the past few weeks. Their comments were pretty hideous and not something taught in America’s public or private schools.

Even the much celebrated Abraham Lincoln displayed his hatred of Indians when he sentenced 38 Dakota warriors to be hanged in Mankato, Minnesota for defending their country while an audience of 4,000 white citizens looked on and cheered. The largest mass hanging in American history took place on December 26, 1862, one day after Christmas.

Speaking before a crowd in Michigan last week Trump thoroughly insulted Montana Senator Jon Tester for blocking the nomination of Doctor Ronny Jackson as head of the Veteran’s Administration. Trump said that Tester would never be elected in Montana again. Idle threats: With Trump who knows.

And here’s the clincher: At the campaign type rally in Washington, Michigan the Trump loving crowd began to chant; Nobel, Nobel, Nobel. Meaning that Trump should be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to bring North Korea to the bargaining table.

Sorry Donald, if anyone deserves the Nobel Peace Prize it is President Moon Jae-in of South Korea for bringing Kim Jong-un, President of North Korea to talk about peace on the Korean Peninsula. Let the two Korea’s settle their own differences. The United States should keep their big noses out of it. The U.S. nose is already bent out of shape in the Middle East.
