Citizens of the
Chickasaw Nation will soon be able to utilize a unique fitness system, one of the first of its kind in the United States.
The new
Chickasaw Nation Wellness Center in Ada will be the first in Oklahoma with a
PRAMA studio, Governor Bill Anoatubby said. There are only two other places in U.S. with the system, which is described as a cross between an arcade game and a playground.
"We believe this is another way to motivate and excite people to exercise and maintain a healthy lifestyle,” Anoatubby said in the March 2018 issue of The Chickasaw Times, the tribe's official publication.
The tribe broke ground on the project on February 8. At 25,350 square-feet, the center will be almost double the size of the existing wellness center.
The tribe did not say when work will be completed.
