The
Saginaw Chippewa Tribe has a new leader.
Ronald Ekdahl was chosen as chief by the council after an organizational meeting on Tuesday. He succeeds Frank Cloutier in the post.
“It is truly an honor to be selected to serve as Tribal Chief for the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal community. I will do everything in my power to ensure Tribal Council collectively works for what is in the best interest of the Tribe and its members,” Ekdahl said in a
press release.
Cloutier, who served as chief since 2015, will continue as secretary.
Julius Peters will serve as sub-chief and Craig Graveratte will serve as treasurer.
