The
Kalispel Tribe isn't commenting on news reports about the arrest of its chief of police for domestic violence.
James Wynecoop, 61, allegedly assaulted his wife inside their home in the early morning hours of December 2, according to the reports. He's now facing fourth degree assault charges in Spokane County, Washington,
according to court records.
The tribe hasn't said publicly whether Wynecoop remains on the job, according to the news reports.
Wynecoop has served as the head of the
tribe's police department for 10 years, according to his
LinkedIn profile. He previously worked as an officer for the
Bureau of Indian Affairs.
