Justin Motlow made history as the first citizen of the
Seminole Tribe to score a touchdown for
Florida State University.
Junior wide receiver Motlow caught a 12-yard catch during the fourth quarter of a on Saturday. He helped his team to a 77 to 6 victory over Delaware State.
“That is just the most amazing honor you could ever feel,” Motlow told The Associated Press. “I am so proud to represent my tribe. The first member to score a touchdown, let alone just play, it’s an exhilarating feeling. It makes me so happy.”
Motlow is the first Seminole to play football for FSU, whose mascot and logo is based on Seminole culture. The tribe approved the imagery.
