Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation expands government contracting portfolio

The Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation continues efforts to diversify its economy.

Prairie Band LLC, the tribe's economic development arm, announced the acquisition of Mill Creek. The firm provides technology, equipment and other services to health care facilities, including those run by the federal government.

“We are delighted to make a substantial investment in an outstanding company with massive growth potential within the federal healthcare space,” Jacob Wamego, the president and chief executive officer of Prairie Band, said in a press release on Tuesday.

Prairie Band's portfolio includes three companies that engage in government contracting. Another subsidiary, Prairie Band Health Services, Inc., offers healthcare management staffing for government and corporate clients. In April, it won a $1.2 million contract with the Navy Medical Center in San Diego, California.

Prairie Band Construction is also qualified for government contracts.
