An all-Native band from southern California that mixes heavy metal with traditional drums and rattles is getting some love in the local media.
Warpath has four members. Two are citizens of the
Barona Band of Mission Indians and two are citizens of the
Iipay Nation of Santa Ysabel, The San Diego Reader reported.
“Everybody in rock has a gimmick. We are all about native American culture,”
drummer Dean Osuna, who is from Santa Ysabel, tells The Reader. “Our gimmick is the truth of what we are.”
The band is performing at Way Point Saloon in Ramona on October 31 and at Brick by Brick in Linda Vista on November 9, The Reader reported.
