St. Regis Mohawk Tribe orders 20 non-citizens to leave reservation

The St. Regis Mohawk Tribe is enforcing its exclusion policy against people accused of engaging in criminal activity.

The tribe has ordered 20 non-citizens to leave the reservation in New York, The Plattsbugh Press-Republican reported. Some of the people on the list are non-Indians but others are from other tribes in the state, the paper said.

The decision was made “for the protection of health, welfare and security of tribal members and is not subject to appeal," a spokesperson told the paper.
