The Seminole Tribe has once again ousted James "Jim" Billie from office.

The tribal council voted 4-0 on Wednesday to remove Billie from the chairman's post, Local10 News reported. Tribal members had brought a recall petition against him, the station said.

"The recall petition cited various issues with policies and procedures of the Chairman's Office," the tribe said in a press release that was quoted by Local10.

Billie, 72, was previously impeached in 2003 amid allegations of financial mismanagement. By that time, he had already led the tribe to national and international prominence during his 23 years in the post.

He returned to office in 2011 and won re-election to another four-year term in 2015.
