Someone is finally facing charges in connection with what local authorities keep calling "unlawful" activities among the #NoDAPL resisters but it might be a surprise who it is. Jill Stein, the Green Party's nominee for president, will be charged after she spray-painted a Dakota Access Pipeline bulldozer, Morton County Sheriff Kyle Kirchmeier announced on Tuesday. She could face trespassing or vandalism charges, he said at a press conference. "The state of North Dakota may charge me with vandalism for painting a bulldozer," Stein responded on Facebook. "Will they charge the oil company that bulldozed the sacred burial grounds of the Standing Rock Sioux?" Stein and her running mate, Ajamu Baraka, came to North Dakota to show solidarity with the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and the #NoDAPL movement. She acknowledged participating in a "direct action" on Tuesday to prevent construction of the controversial pipeline and KX News posted a video of her using a spray paint can on the bulldozer.

“I came here to support the Standing Rock Sioux and the actions here. I am here to support the protection of the Standing Rock water supply, the water that nourishes millions of people, and the sacred sites and the ancestral lands of the indigenous people," Stein said in a press release distributed by the Red Warrior Camp, one of the #NoDAPL resistance groups. Stein met with Standing Rock Sioux Chairman Dave Archambault II and living legend" Dennis Banks during her tour of the #NoDAPL encampment. Read More on the Story:
