The Bear River Band of Rohnerville Rancheria has completed work on a recreation center on its reservation in California. The tribe broke ground on the Bear River Recreation Center in July 2015. The 23,000 square-foot facility, which features basketball courts, a gym and an activity center, will be open to the public for use. The center, which can be accommodated for a stage, also will host events for the nearby Bear River Casino Hotel. The first concert already took place on August 10, according to a post on the tribe's Facebook page. The grand opening is scheduled for September 16, The Humboldt Beacon reported.
