A police officer from the Navajo Nation has died in the line of duty. Leander Frank was responding to a call on the Arizona portion of the reservation on Tuesday when his patrol vehicle was involved in a head-on collision, the tribe said in a press release. He was killed instantly. The incident occurred on Navajo Route 64 between Chinle and Tsaile, where Frank was headed at the time. The occupants of the other vehicle survived, the tribe said. The Arizona Department of Public Safety is investigating, according to the tribe.
