The Morongo Band of Mission Indians hosted a grand opening for the new flagship offices of First Californian Credit Union earlier this week.

The credit union is located at 47993 Morongo Trail, Suite 101, in Cabazon. It shares a new building with the tribally-owned and well-known Hadley Fruit Orchards, right off a well-traveled highway.

"There’s a real synergy at this location as we continue to expand the amenities and services being offered here," Chairman Robert Martin said of the prime spot along Interstate 10.

In addition to First Californian Credit Union and Hadley's, the first In-N-Out Burger in Indian Country is nearby. Visitors can also find the first tribally-owned Taco Bell and other retail, dining and service enterprises at the site, which is near the Morongo Casino Resort.

The tribe started First Californian Credit Union in 2009 to offer financial products and services to its members and employees. Martin said it boasts more then 2,000 members.
