Artist Vanessa Bowen, a member of the Navajo Nation, wants to "Make America Native Again." Bowen, who lives in New Mexico, came up with the slogan in response to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. She thinks his "Make America Great Again" refers to an era in American history where Native Americans and other minorities were far less visible. “If he were referring to the 1960s and 1950s, it was an era that mostly catered to non-minorities,” Bowen told the Associated Press. “So I said, ‘Let’s turn this message that he preaches around and perhaps focus more on make America Native again.’” Bowen is selling hats, t-shirts and tank tops on her website with the "Make America Native Again" slogan.
