The Senate Committee on Indian Affairs is holding a hearing on Wednesday to focus on rural development programs at the Department of Agriculture. USDA's Rural Development offers a variety of initiatives aimed at improving the economy and quality of life in rural areas. Tribes and tribal colleges have benefited from grants, loans and other programs and the committee will look at more ways for Indian Country to participate. The hearing takes place immediately following a business meeting at 2:15pm in Room 628 of the Senate Dirksen Office Building. The witness list follows:
