The Mescalero Apache Tribe of New Mexico is hosting a Gus Macker basketball tournament next month. The tournament is the first Gus Macker event in Indian Country, The Alamogordo Daily News reported. It will be held June 25-26 at the Inn of the Mountain Gods. "We're going to call it 'Macker on the Rez' and it's the first Gus Macker on any Indian reservation," Vice President Gabe Aguilar told the paper.
