A former employee of the Passamaquoddy Tribe at Pleasant Point in Maine was sentenced on a theft charge. Stephen E. Crawford, 68, admitted he took more than $25,000 while serving as the tribe's environmental director. When he was fired in February 2012, he told The Bangor Daily News that he lost his job because he was not a tribal member but it turns out he was under investigation for the theft. Crawford agreed to pay $26,373 in restitution to the tribe and was sentenced to probation for his crime. Get the Story:
