Rose Salgado, a leader of the Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians in California, has once again survived a cancer diagnosis. “I will be able to feel the wind and know in my heart that my faith, family and friends are the reason I am able to be there," Salgado said at an American Cancer Society luncheon for survivors on March 3, the paper reported. Salgado, who previously served as vice chair of her tribe, also beat two bouts of breast cancer. She will be taking part in the society's Relay for Life on Saturday.
