Opiate abuse is on the rise on the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin. Kalihwisaks, the tribe's newspaper, published the first installment of a two-part series on the problem. Substance abuse counselor Becky Krueger has noticed more and more people have become addicted to opiates like heroin and prescription painkillers. "I have to say that the opiate and heroin issue has become very predominant and it’s a very difficult addiction to treat," Krueger tells the paper. The second installment will look at the issue from a law enforcement perspective. Get the Story:
