Leaders of the Fort Belknap Indian Community in Montana declared an emergency in response to drug problems on the reservation. Council member Donovan Archambault Sr. attributed 10 deaths since November 2015 to methamphetamine abuse, The Havre Daily News reported. Tribal officers say they frequently encounter people who regularly use the drug. "Arrest 'em, put a stop to it," tribal employee John Allen said during a four-hour council meeting in which the issue was discussed, the paper reported. "How many more senseless deaths are we going to have to live through?" The council set aside $150,000 to start an anti-drug pilot program, the paper said. Get the Story:
