Northern Cheyenne man convicted of aggravated sexual abuse

Olaf James Haugen
, a member of the
Northern Cheyenne Tribe
of Montana, was convicted of aggravated sexual abuse by a federal jury last week.
Haugen, 29, was
charged in January
for raping and beating a woman in August 2013. Documents filed in federal court showed that the victim sustained numerous injuries after being sexually assaulted, bitten and threatened with a knife at a home in Lame Deer.
Sentencing is set for
March 17, 2016
. Haugen faces life in prison and a $250,000 fine.
