A Michigan man who worked for the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians for more than 14 years is accused of cheating the tribe. Michael Gerard Buchanan was the information technology director for the tribe from May 1998 through October 2012, according to his LinkedIn profile. Federal authorities allege he used his position to buy more than $233,000 worth of electronic equipment. Buchanan then sold the equipment without the tribe's authorization and kept the money for his own use, according to a felony information filed in federal court on Monday. The alleged thefts started in 2008 and continued through September 2012, just a month before he left the tribe. He has since worked in IT positions at two other places in Michigan, according to LinkedIn. Get the Story:
