Food-lovers in Washington, D.C., can experience a true Thanksgiving at the National Museum of the American Indian.

The Mitsitam Native Foods Cafe is serving its holiday menu with items like wild elk stew, smoked bison and pumpkin pie. Ingredients are sourced from tribes and Indian business across the nation.

“Each dish tells a story, through food, of who we as Americans are,” executive chief Jerome Grant told The Washington Post. “When people sit down at the Thanksgiving table, they should think about the history behind it, and why they are celebrating it.”

The holiday menu is available for take-out orders but patrons can also visit NMAI on Thanksgiving Day itself to enjoy the meal.
