Former Indian Affairs attorney at Interior Department joins firm

Venus Prince, a member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians, has joined Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton.

Prince comes to the firm from a senior post at the Interior Department. She served as deputy solicitor for Indian Affairs within the Office of the Solicitor, where she handled legal issues affecting Indian Country.

"I am excited and honored to be joining Kilpatrick Townsend and one of the nation’s premier Native American practices," Prince said in a press release.

Prior to her stint at DOI, Prince served as attorney general for her tribe, which is based in Alabama. The tribe is a longtime client at Kilpatrick Townsend.

“With over 15 years of experience, Venus is a highly-skilled and well-established lawyer in Indian Country and brings invaluable experience working with tribal governments," said Catherine Munson, the co-chair of the firm's Native American Affairs team.

Prince will be working in the firm's Washington, D.C., office.
