Sault Tribe signs agreement to work more closely with county

The Sault Tribe and Chippewa County in Michigan have entered into a government-to-government agreement.

The two governments agreed to work together on common issues . They each will appoint representatives to a new Joint County-Tribal Liaison Committee that plans to meet on a regular basis.

The county is scheduled to host the first meeting, The Soo Evening News. The tribe will host the second and then the governments will take turns.
